Chèche Study
Oil - 12 x 12" / Huile - 30 x 30 cm

An oil painting color study. The model was my friend Christophe Lajournade wearing a "chèche" (arabic scarf). I have slightly altered his features, making him more arabic looking and he was happy with the result. I tried to pay a special attention on reflected lights here and focus on a small color palette, trying to make the playing lights on his skin more intense. A lot of fun with this one.

Une étude à l’huile. Le modèle est un ami, Christophe Lajournade nouant un chèche. J’ai légèrement modifié ses traits pour lui donner un air plus arabisant : cela lui va très bien. Je me suis particulièrement intéressé ici aux reflets dans les ombres en essayant de réduire ma palette au minimum, pour essayer d’obtenir des lumières plus intenses sur sa peau. Beaucoup de fun avec celui-ci.
